About the project
From 2024 to 2026, I collaborated with UNOPS to produce documentary photography for multiple projects across the Central America Multi-Country Office (MCO). The work focused on capturing the human impact of development initiatives, highlighting the people and communities benefiting from these projects, as well as the professionals, partners, and collaborators making them possible. The resulting imagery supports communication efforts across a wide range of sectors, including infrastructure, procurement, resilience, and sustainable development.
Challenge
One of the main challenges was translating the value of UNOPS' work into compelling visual stories. Procurement, infrastructure, and project management are often perceived through physical outputs or technical processes, making it essential to reveal the people, transformations, and long-term impact behind each initiative. Another important challenge was increasing the visibility of an organization that, despite its significant contributions in Honduras and the region, remains relatively unknown to the general public. Each photographic assignment required balancing authenticity, technical quality, and storytelling while adapting to diverse project environments.
Results
The project resulted in the development of a robust and versatile photographic archive for the Central America Multi-Country Office, providing high-quality visual assets for reports, campaigns, donor communications, social media, and institutional publications. Beyond documenting activities, the imagery helped strengthen UNOPS' visual identity by showcasing tangible impact, reinforcing transparency, and bringing greater visibility to the organization's work and the communities it serves throughout the region.
